6th February - Another new gig: Another new gig has been spotted, this time in the boy's home town, Brighton. Although not yet officially confirmed by the band, these gigs could be the start of a small tour. Head to the gigs page for more info. |

21st November - New tour announced, more dates to follow: Seven new dates have been announced by the band, with the promise of more to follow. Including "The Nightmare before Christmas" on the 18th of December in London, which is the same date as the previously announced gig in Bradford (which we presume has been canceled or re-scheduled). 18th November - New recording of Kemptown Animal: The one time Eighties song "Kemptown Animal" has been re-recorded by ex-guitarist Rich Fownes' new band "Bad For Lazarus". You can hear the new mix, along with two other new songs by the band on their MySpace page.
18th November - New gig announced: A gig at Gasworks in Bradford has been announced. Visit the gigs page for more info.
2nd November - Tristan is new lead guitarist: A new blog from Eighties on their MySpace reveals that Tristan McLenahan, who was touring with the band as a semi-permanent member, is now the permanent lead guitarist. The blog also included photos from the recent Halloween gig and showed that several unknown songs were played, "Monsuier Cutts" and"So Long, Good Night".
9th October - Halloween Gig: This year, Eighties' annual halloween gig is to take place at Trash in Leeds. For more info and to buy tickets head over to the gigs page.
21st September - New Album?: Rumors from recent gigs have spurred news that eighties are returning to the studio in two weeks time to record a new set of songs, possibly for a full length album. The songs will be recorded in france with Tristan who is now rumored to be a permanent member.
7th September - New songs: The guys have just finished recording four new songs, tentatively named "Riptin", "Seaford Song", "Home Made" and "Sister". The tracks were record with touring guitarist, Tristan and produced by "With Scissors" front man Charley. We're not sure how or when these songs will be released but we hope to hear them soon...
2nd September - Tour Announced!: A six date tour has been announced. Sym will return back to his position on bass after taking some time out from recent gigs. Four of the six gigs are support slots for Scars on Broadway (members of System of a Down). Check the gigs page for more info and to buy tickets.
8th August - Photos from The Power festival and The Big Chill: Some excellent photos from these two gigs have surfaced. The Big Chill photos can be found here, and The Power Festival ones can be found on our Facebook page.
16th July - Eighties Matchbox live on XFM (2003): A professionally shot live set from Eighties's 2003 XFM set has surfaced on youtube. The videos are available here, courtesy of GuyHead.
16th July - New Lyrics: We've got lyrics up for the demos of "I Could Be An Angle" and "Mr Fearful" courtesy of Evilded, hop on over to the Discography page to have a read.
